If I started a daily running...?

schedule of 2 miles daily could I lose a pound or 2 weekly? I am 5'5 and 135 pounds.

  1. not doing that. At my highschool the wrestling team loses two pounds a week MAX. That's with intense dieting, and two mile HILL runs. Those are warm up runs by the way.

    They are followed by wind sprints, stairs, wrestling, lifting, wrestling, stairs, etc. All with very little rest in between.


  2. You'd gain muscle and lose fat. Not necessarily losing weight. Chances are you'd gain it. But it'd all be muscle.

  3. 135 pounds is well within the "normal" weight zone for your height. So you may not lose very much, as your metabolism doesnt want you to be under-weight.

    The best way to run to lose weight though is with intervals; that is alternate between running very fast, and just jogging, several times in those two miles.

    And keep in mind you will gain a little weight in muscle as well, and be more toned, making the same weight look better.
