  1. Yes ... whatever you are thinning may curdle, get sticky, never dry or other bad things.

    Laquer thinner is alcohol

    Regular paint thinner is NOT alcohol

It depends on the type of paint you want to "thin".  If the label calls for lacquer thinner, then that's what you use.  Most Latex-based paints can be thinned with water; some paints use denatured alcohol; oil-based paints use turpentine.  Putting any of those thinners into a lacquer-based paint will ruin the paint, and you'll have to dump it and start over.

Lacquer thinner is not alcohol..alcohol is water soluble and lacuqer thinner is not..and the answer to your question is ..no you cannot use regular thinner for a product needing lacuqer thinner..it is not hot enough..It will clabber on contact..lacuqer thinner is much "hotter " and needs the heat to properly mix with a lacquer based product..
