If I take a year off of college, what community service programs can I volunteer for?

I would be starting college in the Fall of this year. At the age of 18 with only a high school diploma can I join.

AmeriCorps offers one year community service opportunities pretty much anywhere in the country on a wide range of topics. You should be able to find lots of things that interest you.

Peace Corps is difficult to get without a 4 year degree.  Look at city year or americorps.

would recommend joining the peace corps. If you don’t like it, you can leave. It’s an interesting way to see the world and learn as you go. Learn may cultures you would never have a chance to see. Do it for a year...maybe longer.
