If I take the 5 freeway to go to Irvine from Los Angeles, are there usually traffic at around 7am?

Southbound is better than northbound in the morning, but it's still going to be bad.  

Look into metrolink.  The Orange County train goes from LA to Irvine.

the 5 is an interstate not a freeway. and rarely is there traffic on i5.

theres always traffic anywhere in the Los Angeles metro.

i'm gonna take a wild guess and say anywhere from 30 mins to a few hours or more....stuck in traffic that is.

the 5 couldn't be an interstate if it wasn't a freeway.

its also one of the busiest freeways on the west coast.
