Question:

If I take up running, will it make my top half smaller? ?

When I see runners they all seem to have thin arms and no b*****s. Is it just chance they had that body to start with so took up running for sport, or will running give me that body? The reason I ask is that I have a large chest so that I have to wear two sports bras just to run and it's a lot of hassle, and I'm hoping that in time my top half will become smaller if I keep running.

  1. I was a D, started running and have lost a stone and gone down to a C.

I think breast and upper body size is more to do with your overall body fat% though and the fact that if people just go running they don't build up muscle in their upper body unlike say swimming.

I'm still wearing 2 sports bras at the moment though as don't want to get saggy, probably will do until I'm a B.

Maybe your sports bra is not that comfortable?

Compression ones affect your breathing much worse than encapsulation styles like Triumph tri-action extreme which also provides better support:

Running will definitely help you reduce your chest size as its one of the best exercise for burning loads of calories - I'm training for a half marathon and in my training sessions I easily burn 1000+ calories.

Good luck with the marathon x

  2. It will help some, but if you are that large up top a breast reduction is what will help the most. Running is a good cardio workout that will help reduce fat all over, but your breast are not all fat.

  3. well I never have had huge b***s, but I use to wear size D, and now I wear a size A.  That took about a year and 1/2 worth of running.
