A cooling fan can help but will not be guaranteed to fix the problem. To do that you will need to keep the Xbox cool and hope that the GPU does not become loose.

No it won't solve your problem. I have actually heard of them causing problems. I would not use the cooling fan. I never used one and mine have been fine. I had an Xbox 360 go out on me but that is because it was a launch system that had lasted 2 years with over a 1,000 hours on it. It was the dvd drive that ended up burning out.

Unfortunately, using the cooling fan for Xbox 360 will not solve the problem of RROD.  Actually using any sort of cooling fan will void the 3 year warranty on your Xbox if anything happens to it (Microsoft will say they aren't responsible because of the aftermarket product).  So it is actually safer just to wait and if your Xbox 360 does get the RROD, just take advantage of the free replacement.

It is just something they are selling to make extra cash. lol I wouldnt sell them to my customers when they asked. Get ahold of Mircrosoft. They are doing pretty good with fixing the ststems in a good amount of time.

i dont think so why dont you send it back my pal phoned up and they pick it up and then sent him a new one for free couple days later try contacting microsoft if there is one in the uk good luck
