I'm 39 and this is a surprise pregnancy. I don't want any more surprises.

  1. As far as I understand, yes. I have had several friends who had Medicaid and their tubal ligations were covered after the birth. Also, I used to work in the O.R., and it was pretty common for women getting c/s (Medicaid) to have that done.

I am not 100%, but I am like 98% sure its fine.

  2. No they will not i asked the same question when i first found out i was going to have another baby, medicaid use to pay for it, but they changed their coverage in 2006, is what my Doctors office told me, I would make sure with your medicaid office since you have a yes too, just to make sure, but hope everything works out and good luck with your little one

  3. Yes, medicaid will cover that, but make sure your hospital will allow the procedure.  My local hospital is Catholic and won't allow any form of sterilization procedures, so I have to either deliver in a different hospital or have an outpatient procedure done.

  4. yup, they should. tell your doctor & have them submit it now.

  5. My recommendation is for your partner to go under the knife. I knew someone at work who was 45 years old, had her tubes tied for years, and still got pregnant. Boy, that was a surprise for her! All of her children had graduated high school and she was carrying around a baby. Tubes have a way of magically fixing themselves and becoming untied.

  6. hehe, cute explanation. Anyway, yes, they will pay for it. My cousin just did this last March.

    Good luck to you!

  7. Yes medicaid will cover it, make sure that you sign the paper with your Dr though because you have to sign the release form at least 30 days before the procedure in order to get it done then.  I am having my tubes done after this one too.

  8. you will have to decide 30 days in advance to your c-section. I know cause I did.
