If I want to become a professional dancer in either ballet, jazz or tap...where should I start?I already am a member of a competitive team at a dance studio...but where do I go from there? Auditions..? If so which ones and trainings..?

  1. you shoud search the internet for some local auditions, unless your ready to go big, then there is alot of auditions in NYC, and theres always so you think you can dance =) haha i hope this helps =)


  2. Professional ballet dancers didn't get their start as members of competition teams, so unless you switch to an elite ballet school, you can scratch that option off your list. Next, unless you're being trained by teachers who either are, or were once professional dancers, you can't expect to go much further than them. Be sure you get the best training you can find, even if that means traveling to other areas. At the very least, you need to enroll in summer dance intensives that require an audition to get in.
