If I want to contact a hotel in Paris, isn't easier to phone them than it is to fax them?

If I faxed them, I'd have to do it in French, and I don't speak French.

  1. Hi there traveller,

I faced the same problem as you did yesterday. I only speak English and my mother's tougue, no French. I called the hotel for reservation once as sort of ended up being scolded at as "no english! no english!" I was a bit surprised but what the heck, so I faxed them in English and had a reply in English as well. Funny though...or maybe you can try booking a hotel by internet, that's more convenient, I'll say. Try to look for more website for same hotel, you'll be surprised with the deals difference that they are offering... Good luck!

  2. fax it.

you can use an online translater or i could help you

also its different times of the day/night in paris so there could be noone there to answer

  3. It would all depend on the hotel and who is on duty.

I think you'd be better off trying to do the reservation online though.

  4. what about Email. Don't they have a website.

  5. There are translators on the internet that are free and will allow you to send your fax in French. You could also email. In Paris most people speak both English and French as well as other languages. Just like in New York or LA. In LA more people speak Spanish then English. Parisians speak both languages because they do a lot of business with UK.

The only reason for them to want to speak French is that they are more comfortable in that language.

  6. hmm.. phone them

  7. not sure. haha
