If I want to find a phrase here, why are spaces ignored? eg "without let " to exclude "letting"?

  1. What are you talking about? The search engine? When you put the " " around a word or a phrase it will look for the word/s within in that exact order first. If you want to exclude something from the search you put - together with the word. If you want to exclude letting you should type -letting (not - letting).
