I want to major in pschology. Does it matter how I do on the math section on my SATs?

  1. It depends what college you want to go to


  2. Absolutely! There are math classes that are formed especially for psychology majors such as statistics and probability, etc. Although a clinical psychologist won't really be using math in therapy, college programs almost always require math for use in tests and experiments.

    Also, no matter what your major, a low SAT score in any area looks bad for someone who wants to go to college.

  3. Not at all. The SAT is suppose to be an indicator of how well you will preform in college but I don't find that to be true. In psychology a lot of the tests will be multiple choice (at least from my experience) some math will be involved but not a whole whole lot. So if I were you I wouldn't worry about it.  

  4. yeah it does, to take psychology you will need a pass in Maths
