  1. sydney

  2. If you also want to look around the country a bit choose Brisbane.  Perth is a long way from anywhere else.

  3. Depends on what work you are after...Both Western Australia & Queensland are booming with the mining industry but that would require travelling as Perth & Brisbane are the capital cities & the mines are in the Northern regions... Brisbanes weather is very humid...Perth can be a bit humid as well but not as bad...Perth is the smaller, quieter city of Australia...people dub us Wait Awhile (WA) coz we have to wait for parts etc to get here from Sydney (generally) but on that note, it means we are a bit more laid back coz we don't expect things straight away.....to sum it up tho, if I were to leave WA, I would go to Queensland, mainly because of the work tho...

  4. Western Australia (Perth) is reputed to be just gorgeous! I've seen photos from when a friend was there and it's just amazing. However, there is not that much to do on the West Coast.

Brisbane, on the other hand, is a great city (I live one hour south of it on the Gold Coast) and is on the East Coast. The East Coast is much more heavily populated and therefor has more things to do and see. For example, a trip from Brisbane up the East Coast would include Harvey Bay, the Whitsunday Islands, Fraser Island, Rockhampton, Townsville, Bundaberg, Cairns, The Daintree rainforest, etc etc.

Heading SOUTH from Brisbane, you can incorporate Byron Bay, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Sydney, Melbourne, Phillip Island,  etc etc.

So if you are after touristy stuff with a bit of work in between, I'd go for Brisbane. I believe the wages are better in Sydney, however...

  5. If it is a choice of Perth or Brisbane, having experience of them both, I chose Perth, and have never regretted it for a moment, it doesn't have the size of the other cities, probably  that is what I like about it, I don't live actually in Perth, the industrial areas are in the suburbs.

Weather wise, if you prefer a colder climate, the East is colder than the West in winter, I have been there in the summer, and it can get really hot at times.

Work wise, depending on your trade, there is work everywhere, but you have to choose your bosses as well as your job, some of them can be real pigs.
