Only certain original games work.

Depends on the game, Some orig XBOX games work for the 360, like Halo and Fable, although they may if you have xbox live want to update or patch the game. But some games just dont work at all on the 360 like Prince of Persia 2 and 3.

Some original Xbox games are backwards compatable.A list can be found here: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backward... .   You will need to either connect to Xbox Live or download, burn, and install the required update in order to play them.

for some games for the original xbox you may need an update from xbox live to be able to play the game, but there is a list of playable games on the xbox 360 website so you can look at that list and if the game you want to play is on that list you can just go ahead and play it
