  1. depends on the schools boundaries and the out of zone policy for the school district

  2. careful, at my school they actually will come and check if they suspect anything

  3. Probably. Many school systems are cracking down on folks who give false addresses so their kids can go to certain schools.

I guess one way around having to live in that district would be if you had a friend who actually lived in that district and you used their address as the address that you give the school.  It would have to be a good friend though because they might get into trouble and then there's the hassle of having to deliver to you all of the mail that the school sends.

  4. You mean "resident"?

It depends on your state laws and board of education regulations.

In our district (a suburban villiage district) people can self-pay $3000 to send their child from a neighboring district.  That does not include transportation.  It just offsets the property taxes that that district wouldn't receive if you didn't live in their boundaries.  So you'd double-pay for public school - the taxes in your district - then the out-of-district fees to the suburban district.
