  1. I'll show you a couple of links

  2. It depends on what you're looking for in terms of location. My preference would be the Hotel Villa La Vedetta which has some terrific views of the city. It's near Piazza Michelangelo on the other side of the river from the Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio.

If you're looking for walking distance to the old town attractions:

The Excelsior is right on the Arno River close to Ponte Vecchio.

The Relais Santa Croce is between the Duomo and the Santa Croce. This is a short walk for the main tourist attractions in the center of the old town, but the others are also easy walking distance.

Personally, I wouldn't spend enough time in the hotel to make the additional cost of a 5 star in Florence worth-while. There are many good alterantives. You could stay at the 4 star Rivoli for about a third of the cost of the 5 star places.

  3. this is one of the best in Florence http://www.hotelenthusiast.com/autumn/Fl... but if you're after something different, try this link http://www.holiday-velvet.com/florence/f... It's an apartment in a 16th palazzo over looking the church at Santa Croce
