Can I buy two one-way tickets from the Bensenville station or do I have to buy one from Bensenville and one from Union Station to go back?

  1. Yes but if you are on the weekend you might want to do the all weekend pass that I believe is only $5.

  2. You can buy both at the Bensenville station.

Basically the Metra trains charge by zones.

So I take the Metra to visit my family and I pay $3.90 for a Zone A (Millennium Park Station) to Zone E (Homewood) ticket.  It never matteres if my ticket said "E to A" or "A to E"...as long as I pay $3.90 for my ticket and it has the proper zones nobody cares.  I buy both of my tickets in Chicago all of the time...

Also if it's a weekend just buy a $5 weekend pass.

Also there is no such thing as a round trip ticket on a Metra Train...especially not the vending machines.  If you ask for one at a ticket booth, they'll just sell you two one-ways.

  3. Just figure out your train time and get on that train. Someone will come around and then you can buy round trip tickets.
