  1. learndirect. They have alsorts o courses including GCSE's and i think they do it all over the place. Not sure how much it'l cost tho. Usually u hav a 2 hour lesson every week wherever they have them, and a lot of work 2 do at home!

  2. if i were you i would go onto an exam board website AQA and OCR are free and print off a past exam and the mark scheme and see how you do. The grade boundaries should be on the internet somewhere!

  3. Well I don't know what your on about but if you want practise  then you should go to this site http://www.aqa.org.uk/admin/qp-ms_gcse.p...

  4. I have had  the same problem as I home-educate my daughter and she will be doing some GCSEs next summer.

What we did was to e-mail every school in our area and asked if they take external candidates.  Some do and some don't, but we have found a school not to far away who will take her.

So, start e-mailing (you should find a list on your city's website under education), but do it quick as school holidays are about to begin.

Tell them which subject you want to do, when you want to do it and which exam board.  If you are unsure as to which board you want to do, just Google "GCSE (subject) (exam board, ie OCR, AQA or Edexcel)" and look at the specifications.  Bear in mind though that it is unlikely that they will mark coursework, so you are better choosing a specification that offers a coursework free option, if available.  If you are doing a modern language, you will need to see if they will let you do the speaking test, and for any science, check that you can do any practicals there.

You will also need to ask what they would charge.  GCSEs cost between £25 and £30 per subject, but the school will probably charge an admin fee as well.  The admin fee would be anything from about £5 to £60!!

Good luck - it can be a bit of a nightmare ....

  5. As far as I know there is only 1 sitting a year - summer.

You will need to contact the Exams Office of your Local College to see if they accept external candidates, and if they do they will tell you how much it will cost.
