If I wanted to start a non-medical homecare agency in Wisconsin, who would I contact to get a license?

  1. Please re-post this in the medical section.  There are people there who know what they are talking about.  You  have this posted in the insurance section.  

    First, please contact the county health department.    That office can send you to the correct place.  

    If they are not available on Monday morning, call the county business license department.  No such department will allow you to become licensed unless you meet all state & county requirements. Thus, by applying, you can find out who to see for each step in the process.

    Fair enough?

    P.S.  Protect your business, and seperate it (legally) from your home and bank account.  You do not want a lawyer to seize all you have in order to compensate a person who says you did something wrong.  (Your state may even allow for the loss of your home if a person claims you caused them 'psychic harm'.)
