If I wanted to teach English in another country, other than the peace corps, what are my options?

  1. First, you would have to get a certificate for teaching English as a second Language. It will run about $250-350 and take a couple months.

    Once you have that, there are many countries that will hire you to teach in their country. Some of them will even pay your expenses to get there and return plus a place to live. Of course, those don't pay as much, but you can still live nicely on what you make.

    Some of the countries that I know of that hire native speaking people to teach English are Singapore, China, Russia and many other Asian countries.


  2. The answer above me by abradley pretty much covered it.  The one place he missed that is hiring a lot of people is South Korea.  They can pay you well if you are a professional teacher.  Seach on the web and look in peoples blogs.  There are all sorts of resouces available on the internet.
