Not if you were well healed and the now injured part was ok.  They can try to blame anything else for the injury, but stick to your guns if the area hadn't been bothering you before.

They always try to blame a prior accident.  I do not know what part of the body you are talking about, but for example, with a spine injury, the insurnce company always gets a peer review report from a radiologist that states that the injury is degenerative because there are disc materials that show up, which indicates that the disc was injured for long time.  The response is that it is impossible for a radioligist to determine causation without seeing an MRI before the injury in question, and if there was a degenerative disease, that would only make the body more prone to sustaining being aggrivated.  

The real evidence wil be your testimony as to your physical pain and limitations before the accident compared with after the accident.  I have never lost such a case before a jury, b/c frankly, when somebody testifies that they did not have paid before the accident, but they did afterwards, it destroys the insurance doctor's credibility.
