  1. If you didn't hand out a Liability Waiver, then theres a chance they could sue you, as the updated rules of any contact game states. Though any person that gets a caring invite to some one else's home to have some fun time, gets hurt, and doesn't appreciate a get well sandwich or burrito the next day instead, that person is no friend of mine...

  2. Pay the bill and never invite that person to your house again.  Your homeowners insurance may cover the injury.

  3. Hmmm, now that would be a dilemma now wouldn't it. Hopefully they have their own dam insurance. Otherwise off with their heads. LMAO

  4. Probably not.

I believe the plaintif would have to demonstrate some negligence on your part.

I.e. you were using an old twister mat, it tore causing the sprain.

You placed the mat too close to an item of furniture, etc.

Or they would have to convince the court you 'compelled' them to play.

That said, the cost of an attorney would probably exceed the hospital bill, so you might offer to split the bill if it's only a couple hundred bucks.

Remember though they are in the same boat.   This is not a big dollar item so it's unlikely they can get an attourney to represent them for the damgages.  I.e. suing you would cost more up front than the doctors visit.

Also if you offered to settle for half the doctors visit, the court would probably be a bit ill disposed toward the plaintiff since you made a good faith offer.  (Make sure you document the offer though.)
