I am hoping to buy one and was wondering if the internet was free. I don't have to pay for ANYTHING else, right? Just the ipod touch price?

  1. um yea, its not like the iphone where you get charged for data, its through wifi, so think of it as using a laptop on a wireless network. thats all it is. UNLESS your at an internet cafe where they charge you for the internet usage. but in your home and starbucks, your fine. =)

  2. Its free in a sense. If you already have wifi in your home then it wont cost you anything more then it already does to get the wifi, the wifi is a free feature on the ipod touch. But if you dont have wifi in your home, you will need to get it to access the net with the ipod touch. Unless you go to free wifi hotspots at starbucks or fast restaraunts, if they have it that is. Not all of them do, usually just the bigger cities. Also, if you get the touch, it costs $9.99 to get the app store uploaded onto the ipod touch, if its not already. Im not sure if the new retail touches have preinstalled or not. That is af course if thats something you're planning on getting. The wifi is also free on the iphone, by the way. Its the edge network that costs money, but it allows you to get the internet everywhere you go not just in wifi hot spots. But, if I was in a wifi spot I could use it, alternitivly. The iphone is a far better device thent he ipof touch, if you can afford the month to month payment, which if you get the lowest plan, its around $70. And, it cost less up front, half.

  3. correct.
