  1. Yes the Air Force will pay nearly all of it for you to live of base but to do this you have to be in a defacto relationship thats the only way you can live off base

    Hope this was helpful :)

  2. In short the awnser is "yes", if you are approved to live off base, you will recieve BAH (Basic Housing Allownace). The amount depends on your rank and the area where you are stationed. Now getting that approval is different. It's won't be like "Hey I want to live off base" and your gone. Most AF Bases require you do be an E-4 (sometimes E-3) and the dorm rooms have to be filled to a certain percentage, then you get on a list and wait. They will move you out only to make room for more people coming in, now if you get married then you are automaticaly approved to reside off base or in base housing.

  3. You need to be E-4 or higher to live off base.  Some bases, depending on the dorm capacity, you need to be E-5 or higher.

If you're married, then you can live off base, or in on-base housing.

The AF gives you BAH (Basic Allowance for Housing), and that amount is determined by your rank, whether you have dependents, and the location of your base.

  4. if you are Single and below E5: No.  you will not be permitted to live anywhere but the dorms/barracks.  If you are married, and get accompanied orders..you can choose to live on the economy.

occasionally you can get permission to move out of the barracks, but that is rare and you don't always get BAH when you do.

  5. well it dosent matter i've seen e-5s and e-6 living in barracks. you get married you live off post. no room in the barracks u live off post if you are higher ranking. depending where you are you live off post. it all depends on where you are youre rank and youre dependant status

  6. It depends on your rank and also if they have lots of room available in the barracks. Most likely the wont pay for housing if the have a room for you they can give you for free. Even as an E5 its sometimes hard to get off post housing if you arent married.

  7. i think you either have to be married or be an e-5 to live of base, but ya if you do then you should get housing allowance. in remember my brother lived at our house when he was stationed here and just pocketed the housing allowance.

  8. I don't really know about the AF but I know that the Army gives you a housing allowance to live off post.  It also depends on if you are married, have kids and what rank you are.  Like the Army will give housing to E5 and above because when you are an E5 you cant live in the barracks.  (sp).    I hope this helps you out.  You can also speak to someone in housing.
