For example I know alcohol is illegal over in SA but would I be able to consume it while on the airplane?

Does it depend on which airline is used? If a SA plane no, but european yes?

  1. Your additional:

" I wouldn't mind visiting for a couple of weeks because the beaches look fantastic, and great weather too. I would like to learn about the culture too because it's completley different to what I'm used to in the west."

Tells me that you did not book any vacation yet, because KSA does not have any Tourism yet.

KSA does not offer tourist visas unless it a governmentel approved tour. In this case you would be informed about the terms and condiions.

  2. Depends what airline... most wil stop serving once in Saudi territory... Saudi Airlines wont serve anything...

also, Saudi Airlines do not allow you to wear shorts ( yeah im a guy and i was told to go change my shorts when flying from Dammam to Riyadh, pretty g*y if you ask me)

    i just laughed.

  3. The laws of the country in which the airline is registered.  The same would be true aboard a ship.

  4. Only Saudia does not serve alcohol.  When you arrive dress conservatively and be reasonably sober.  Saudi is fairly reasonable if you respect their conservative viewpoints and customes.

  5. I've been on flights from Europe to Saudi (Air France, for example) where they did serve alcohol but hid it before landing in Jeddah.

  6. T shirt a jeans is fine even for arriving as a tourist in Europe.

  7. the alcohol thing depends on which airline you will be using..Saudi airlines don't serve alcohol..and about the clothing..anything  would do!

I'm sure you'll enjoy it would be an interesting holiday  :)
