If I wear a swimming cap, will my hair still get wet?

Question

I dont wanna join PE if my hair is going to get wet because it gets really frizzy and poofy.

If so, What can I do that could my hair from getting wet?

Swim caps' main purpose is to reduce drag and keep away chlorine.  Your hair won't get as wet, as long as it as a rubber cap, but if it is fabric, prepare to be wet.  (YES I AM A BOY I AM A HARDCORE SWIMMER)

while wearing a swim cap your hair will still get wet. a swim cap's main purpose is to hold the hair back so there's less drag and to keep the chlorine away from your hair. the only way to keep your hair dry while swimming is to not go under water.

A swim cap doesn't keep your hair 100% dry, but I find that it doesn't get as wet. The main purpose, as said before, is to keep your hair out of your face. That's why synchronized swimmers wear them while practicing.

Keep the swimcap on tightly.  It might dampen the hair a bit but it wouldn't soak it like it would if you swam without a cap.

Although it would be funny to see you looking like Richard Simmons afterwards.

wear a latex swim cap and don't put it over your ears... if you put it over your ears water can get in. if that doesn't work you can put a lycra cap on and then a latex over it... again don't put it over your ears. good luck

All swim caps leak some more then others. It depends on if the cap is for a racing swim team or if it is designed to protect hair.

Do yourself a favor and don't even bother with the cheap thin latex caps they sell everywhere, they roll up when you take them off pulling hair, they leak and are terrible to put on.

Silicon swimcaps are easier to put on and take off .They will still leak around the ears if the swimcap will not come down low completely covering the ears.  Cutting the very top off a silicon cap so it comes down low over the ears then wearing a headsized retro bubble strap cap over that provides very good results. The bubble caps are available in lots of pretty colors. When you are successfull finding a waterproof swim cap others will want the same .

there are swim caps that can keep your head dry. heres the problem it takes a while to get used to putting them on, as they are rubber you need to get the nack of putting it on it it will be a 20 minute ordeal to get it on and youll pull your hair learning i guaratee.  you can buy them at sports stores ect

well you could wear two swim caps although to be honest it might not stay completely dry unless of course you dont go underneathe the water alot try this:

wear a normal sized cap and above that wear a long haired cap [sillicone, both] it'll help ALOT
