If I went on a ocean cruise and just kept heading WEST in the Pacific ocean --where would I end up (if ever) ?

from California you would have a good chance of getting to Japan, then Asia (going by Hawaii)

No dip there is an end to the ocean, haven't you ever seen a globe or a world map!!!!! If you went west on a cruise you could end up in Japan, China,... Any country on the east coast of Asia.

Look at http://maps.google.com .  Scroll west.  You will eventually hit land.
