If I were a FBI or worked for the FBI would I be able & have the authority to look at any confendentical info?

Question

For an example would I be able to look at DFW international airport flight records of Mexicana flights I.E on 7/31/06?Or Mexican flight?

If so would I be able to view the flight records of who and where they sat at on 7/31/06 a flight from Mexico City to DFW?

The reason that I ask this is because I just think that I've spotted a lost long time freind that I havent seen in 13yrs .

What I'm asking is like a list of names of people who where on that flight from Mexico City to DFW on moday of 7/31/06..nothing else i.e phone numbers, email address, home address etc..

If you want to find an old friend, just go to dexonline.com and then click the residential tab, type in their first and last name, and hopefully it is an irregular name so you don't get a huge list of people, and then it will give you a list of people with that name and their address and phone number.

we would imagine that you'd have to have special safety clearance before you can do a thing like that... Not all FBI's can see all confidential/classified information...

Also, we'd imagine that you would have to have a very, very good reason before you could look into that list ... Since otherwise you'd be using your "power" as a federal agent for your own personal gain...which isn't legal

you would probably be able to look at the info BUT it is illegal to look up the info for personal use.

and what would it matter, your not FBI so your plan is to join the FBI and go through the intense training probably to get booted because alot of people do just to see if you can track someone down you havent seen in 13 years?

Well it all depends on your job title with the FBI. You may want to hire a PI to help find your friend, or use one of those people finder sites. Other than that, it is against the law to get peoples private info without their permission, unless they are listed in public records.
