Question:

If I were to buy a new Xbox...?

The Xbox that I was using is all screwed up to the point that no games or DVD's are able to be played. I really dont want to go through sending it in and all of that c**p, so I was thinking of buying a new one.

I have all the stuff for an Xbox 360. I have two controllers, a headset, all the cords, gold membership to Xbox Live, all of that.

What would be the best way for me to get everything back to normal by buying a new console? The best price for what I need? All I really need is the console itself. I dont need any more controllers or wires, or anything. h**l, I dont even need a new HDD. Mine works fine. All I need is a console that works. How much would that cost me? And where should I get it?

Also, I want to make sure that everything will work. I need to make sure that my old HDD will work on a new one. It just snaps on normal, right? And my old Xbox Live will carry over onto a new Xbox, right? And the plug-ins are the same, probably?

Thanks for the help.

  1. I'd buy a used memory unit and core system separately from eBay. I'd guesstimate the price range, (depending on 360 model, size of hard drive, etc,) I'd say about $150-$350, but that's a very approximate guess. I'd say you should be fine in a LIVE subscription switch. I was reading an FAQ on the xBox website, and most things are incredibly simple to do, or otherwise already done for you when you switch consoles. I can't imagine it'd be that hard to submit such a question as to how to go about the switch to a contact link on the xBox website. Good luck and enjoy your 360! (I'd strongly recommend an Elite.)

  2. Yea everything will work the HDD all the cords controllers etc. and all you gotta do for your xbox live name is go to i believe it just says retrieve xbox live profile and put in your email and password and it gets it all back for you.
