  2. In England and Wales (not Scotland or Northern Ireland), foreign lawyers can practice law as nobody in England or Wales needs to be a solicitor, barrister or other recognized professional to practice law in these countries.

However there are restrictions on how you can practice law, which areas of law you can practice and on what advice you can give, these restrictions apply to areas such as immigration and you can read these in the link below.

You could also re-qualify as a solicitor or barrister and for this you wouldn't have to 'start over' but you would need to take further classes on the laws and practices in the areas of contracts, torts, civil procedure, criminal law and property to name but a few because as you are well aware the laws in these areas vary from state to state and also from country to country.

In addition to the above you would also have to sit the equivalency of the Bar Exam and a whole host of other exams such as the CPE and BVC - you would need to become duly qualified and certified as a solicitor or barrister to remove the restrictions imposed.

You should also be aware that since you a non-EU, EEA or Swiss national you would also require a visa to go to any country to work, practice or train as legal professional.
