  1. The Ulster-American Folk Park just outside the town of Omagh in Co. Tyrone. This is a fantastic open-air museum that you can literally spend hours wandering around.

The museum tells the story of Irish emigration to North America (opened by ancestors of the Mellon Bank) and recounts stories of major historical figures who journeyed across the Atlantic to seek their fortune & escape the poverty and famine of Ireland.

There is an indoor exhibition with audio-visuals and model re-creations, some of which are very moving (particulary the arrival at Staten Island).

Then you venture outside to the 'Old World' which is Ireland in the 1800's with a range of re-created buildings such as cottages, farmhouses, church, schoolhouse, post office and even a little Irish town area with shops, stores, etc.

From here you board a ship to North America and arrive in the 'New World' where you venture through Frontier America with its log cabins, homesteads and loads of other superb buildings. It's worth noting that in almost every building there'll be a museum rep in full costume and character to explain what life would've been like for the houses inhabitants.

The museum also has a special emigration resource library so if you're interested in tracing your ancestors, this is a great place to get some pointers - they even have a database of passenger names that emigrated via 'coffin ship'.

All in all, a great place to visit - another nearby attraction worth a look is the Marble Arch Caves outside Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh.

  2. You can try The Giant’s Causeway. This is located at the northern coast of Northern Ireland, is Ireland’s only World Heritage site.  It has one of the most remarkable rock formations which are made up of 37,000 dark hexagonal shape columns standing beneath the grey cliffs of northern Antrim

According to a legend, these hexagonal rocks were actually placed by a giant called Finn MacCool.  He placed the rocks there to form a bridge which spans across the sea and reaches the island Staffa in Scotland.    This bridge served as a walkway for the woman he loved who was staying at the island of Staffa.  He provided this walkway for her to get across to him without getting her feet wet.  The giant, Finn MacCool, indeed showed his deep love for this woman by building this bridge so that she could reach him with ease, comfort and convenience.  At the tip of the Middle Causeway, there is a rocky seat which is known as the Wishing Chair.  It was told that this chair was made for the giant, Finn MacCool, when he was a child.  As the legend says, all wishes made by anyone at the Wishing Chair will come true.  Perhaps, the giant had wished before that he could build the causeway one day and his wish had come true!

Hope this helps.  If you need other information, see if this website is helpful.

  3. Another great place would be the Carrick-A-Rede Rope bridge. It's about 1/2 hour away from the Giants Causeway, but it's really amazing. After a half a mile walk, you get to cross over this rope bridge that was built every year but fisherman to catch salmon. The bridge hangs over the water and you can cross to a smaller island.

But I would definitely recommend the Giant's Causeway and the Rope bridge, if you are going to Northern Ireland.

  4. Me...lol..

I would take you to club aura in portstewart, the Anchor bar in portstewart, Kelly's night club in Portrush, Then take you on a tour of the antrim coastline..Giants causeway,White park Bay where the sands are whiter than a sheet of paper.

Where you see goorse bushes in springtime with yellow flowers...and 40 shades of green.

And that rope bridge where you are swaying side to side about 100 foot above the sea.

The giants causeway, beautiful site during sunset ,the stones are one of the seven wonder of the world.
