  1. Minor in journalism and major in something like poli sci or sociology. You won't be writing about journalism, don't focus your studies on it. You'll learn style from AP and basic classes. If you want to be a journalist, chances are that you can already write.

    Expand your perspective.

  2. Major in journalism. The two are separate. It's better to major in Journalism because with the experience you will know the style to write in. It works out much better for you. Mine in CW, it can always help.

  3. Maybe a course in creative writing might help you, maybe not. You might wind up writing a novel that never sells someday instead of working in the business.

There's plenty to be learned in journalism, so start there.

  4. Major in journalism. The coursework provides insights and techniques on how to ask questions, research story topics and gather background information on story subjects.

Print journalists are writers. Many go on to be published authors. You can later get a masters of fine arts if the desire is still there. But for the bachelors level, I say go to J-school.

  5. Well, Journalism and creative writing are two different things. Technically Journalism should have NO part of Creative writing.

But, if you also want to have the option to write fiction later, then maybe minor in Creative Writing.
