If Israel attacks Iran . . . how will the U.S. most likely react . . .?

If American interests are attacked, America will respond. America will probably defenda Israel, but will not attack on Israel's behalf.

Why the thimbs down?  I didn't say this is what I want to happen, but realistically, what might happen?  YOu can disagree with my analysis, but to give it a thimbs down is wierd?

caldude1010101 -- why would we have to get involved to knowk out Iran's air defense?  Israel has one of the best Air Forces in the world -- never loosing a F-15 pilot in combat.  Israel flies the most sorties, and has an incredible dog fight record.  They have successfully penetrated the Iranian air defense before and have done so most recently in Syria.  ISrael is completely capable of whiping out Tehran without our interference.

America would probably do whatever Israel asks. Why America has to constantly support a nation that is guilty of more wrongs than their opposition ( Palestine), I don't know. Its just politics, and modern day politics are whack.

We must hope and pray that Isreal maintains the Jewish tradition od sitting back and not doing anything. If Isreal attacks, then Hammas, Islamic Jihad, Syria, and Iran fire back. It will only be a matter of time before the U.S. has to enter the fight, then Eqypt, Saudi Arabia, Lebenon and Jordan follow. That sucks in Turkey vs the Kurds, the Russians vs the Chechnians (sp) and the Islamic factions all across the Pacific rim. That pulls in Europe and Asia. All the while the price of oil will soar to astronomical highs. It will be a world war, a preventable war. I know I said the next world war will be over food or water... well, not if stupidity and pride cause this one.

This is why we will need to drill our own oil.

So, how will the U.S. react? First, we will experience the coming depresion, unless we start dilling. Then the American Jews will send all their money and support to Isreal, protesting the U.S. government for not entering the war. If we're smart, we will send air support right away. If we fight over it and wait to enter, ala WWII, we will be the most hated country in the world (as if we weren't already). Then we'd better be willing to bomb Iran back to primordial soup in order to win, because it won't be like fighting Natzis.

probably will start sending in Geoligist, survey teams, oil riggers, pipeline workers, and start giving out permits and leases to the sponsers of the War, Israel and United States Government, and Big Oil inc.~!!!

When Isreal attacks Iran ...the US will defend its allie...besides Iran has already stated that any attack by isreal will be taken as the US's responsability...

Personally, I think we should let Israel fight their own battles and stay out of a potential 3rd war in the ME.
