If It's 5pm Central what time is it Pacific time?

I am planning on participating in a livechat on tuesday 8/15...

and it starts at 5pm central...

What time does that make it Pacific time?

I live in California...

Someone told me it would be 4pm but I thought it would be 3 because my aunt lives in Texas...

4 time zones in the continental us. east central mount and west... sun rises in the east and sets in the west. subtract two hours from central to get west coast. duh.

also depends on the whole daylight savings thing... if you live near the edge of the time zone daylight savings time isn't usually observed.
