Question:

If Jack Roush is complaining about Toyota's horsepower so much, why don't he switch to them?

Then he'd be even, if he isn't already. This question is a little sarcastic, but there is an old saying, If you can't beat em, join em.

That's what NASCAR told DW to do in the 80s when he was complaining about Fords, or otherwise be quiet.

Nowadays I guess if you complain enough NASCAR will adjust the rules accordingly, though.

  1. maybe its a pride thing....or he doesn't like foreing cars like most of Nascar Nation.

  2. LOL I hear you man.  What was REALLY funny was when the 99 car was caught cheating at Las Vegas and the Toyota technicians supplied all kinds of data on horsepower gains from having the oil tank lid off.  They must have been having a good chuckle at Jack's expense over that one.

    3 STR8 N 08!!!

  3. its kind of ironic coming from the guy who had the loose oil cap situation or what ever with carl edwards and as far as i know toyota hasnt had any violations this year.

  4. Because Toyota doesn't want Roush!

  5. Jack is just mad because he can't beat 'em right now, and, he wouldn't think of joining them!  He always has a major complaint campaign of some sort going, or he's just not happy.  Maybe by complaining it keeps his name in the media when his cars don't.

    Go jr.>>>>

  6. jack is a Ford boy and will never rent/drive/borrow/lease/etc or have people race toyotas for him or any import or any other car that ford

  7. Roush is simply doing his politicking. Instead of figuring out how to compete, he's trying to use his influence. Sad, but they all do it. What's worse, NASCAR listens now instead of telling them to figure it out. We live in an era of no one wants to "injure" anyone with words.

  8. Maybe he wants to support his country instead of Japan.  There is nothing wrong with having a little pride in the country you live in.  Most of his business involves modifying Fords and its located in Metro Detroit.

Selling out as Gibbs did would certainly kill his non racing business.

Toyota hasn't been caught cheating?  Correct me if I'm wrong but Toyota (MWR) stole some sway bars and engine parts from Roush this year.

All of the Big 3 employ people and produce more vehicles in the US than Toyota.

-Toyota employs over 36k people in the US (including dealerships).

    - GM employs over 100k (without dealerships).

    - Chrysler employs over 100k (without dealerships).

    - Ford is most likely also about that since they are far larger than Chrysler.

  9. Why switch  cars when you can get the same result by being a big baby?

  10. It's the American way.

If you can't beat em, p**s and moan til someone changes things for you.

  11. No way!

He will stay with Ford and improve on it.

  12. Cause he is LOYAL. Hes not persuaded by money like the others. He mad because Ford designed a new engine that put out more HP but Nascar denied it. But Toyota gets their engine package and Chevy got the R07. Just wants a fair playing field.
