I know this is a stupid question, but in WWII there were AirRaid Sirens in Sydney, the RAN sunk three Japanese midgit Subs, a US Warship was fired upon. Further North Darwin was bombed. The "Queensland Line" was devised, even today there are WWII bunkers left on the coast. If the 2nd AIF & 18th Battalion didn't stop them along the Kokoda we would have had j**s landing on our shores! So would we be able to raise a Million Man Militia, or would Defence Recruiting be swamped and unable to process everyone into the Army? What would they do to handle the hundreds of thousands of men wanting to Serve, but not currently Enlisted?
Would an Armed Militia just get in the way of the Royal Australian Defence Force and what else could CIVIS do if not take up Arms?
