  1. Until someone else hit America either physically or economically.

  2. The US was already a supplier of Britain and the Soviet Union. We might never have become involved if their military efforts were successful. The Soviets were successful against Germany and may have been able t win the war without a second front opening up.

According to Churchill, the US entry made the outcome inevitable, but that's not to say the n***s would have won had we not committed troups to the struggle. Germany could not defeat Britain in its attempts to do so. Germany had a poor Navy and a so-so airforce.

  3. that's a hard question to answer. we were already sending Britain and the Soviet Union supplies. Germany was conquering country after country and it didn't appear as though they could be stopped.France was conquered in 1942 and Italy was another axis country. seems like we would have entered the war in 1942 0r early '43.

  4. Probably the best barometer of that is comparison with wwi, and it took three years for the US to get into that one.  So if Pearl Harbor hadn't happened, we'd be in it a year later - 1942.

  5. Until n**i Germany became the most powerful country on Earth and took over Russia.

  6. i dont know. i heard that japan recently invented a time machine. why dont you go back and see?

  7. Why would they?

A lot of public opinion was against war- let the europeans fight their european war.

The US was happily climbing out of the great depression by selling arms to the Brits & Russia.

Maybe when they saw their markets about to go under the German jackboot, they might have stepped in, although I suspect it's more likely that they'd bow to the inevitable & just set up trading links with Germany.

The US didn't go into the war full of a desire to do good- they happily stood aside while Germany tried to invade Britain during the ill-fated Operation Sealion in 1940.

Variable- I think you'll find that France was conquered in 1939!

  8. Possibly never.

It was quite happy trading with both sides until then.
