  1. Cult beliefs say blood transfusions are sin.

  2. apparently a symbol of life (blood) is more important than life itself to the Jehovah's Witness. Do they vaue other symbols as greater than the thing they symbolize? Are photographs more important than the actual person in the photograph?

Are statues more important than the person who posed for the statue?

Is the symbol of life worth killing a life to protect the symbol?

Is the letter of the law more important than the people the law is supposed to protect?

  3. THIS LIFE IS ONLY TEMPORARY MY DEAR.. WHY BREAK GOD'S LAW FOR THIS TEMP LIFE???... OUR JOB IS TO HELP SAVE LIVES SPIRITUALLY

  4. Thank for your question.

JWs avail the best medical treatment possible for them.

Best medical treatments nowadays excludes blood transfusions.  There are now bloodless medical procedures which are proven safer for the patients compared to blood transfusions.  I suggest visit our official website regarding your concern and safer alternatives

Regarding saving lives, man does not live in bread alone, but also in the words that utter from Jehovah. (Matthew 4:4).  1 Timothy 4:16 furhter adds: "Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers." (NIV)

The blood that really saves is Jesus' blood

Notice the what the verse below says:

"When Christ came as a high priest of the good things that have come to pass, through the greater and more perfect [temple] not made with hands, . . . he entered, no, not with the blood of goats and of young bulls, but with his own blood, once for all time into the holy place [heaven] and obtained an everlasting deliverance for us. Yes, nearly all things are cleansed with blood according to the Law, and unless blood is poured out no forgiveness takes place."—Hebrews 9:11, 12, 22.(NWT)

This is where JWs are more interested, sharing the wonderful provisions Jehovah has given to us.  Thru such, many came to understand the role of Jesus' sacrifice.

  5. By the way I understand they like to be called Witnesses these days so get with the beat baggy!!! They do not go in for blood transfusions because they believe it is Gods will if you live or die.Personally being a nurse I do not agree but there it is

  6. You are very elementary in your reasoning. Ask any doctor how safe it is to take blood. It's not a 100% chance a person will live if they took blood. I'm sure you have witnessees in your area. We have a tape that would open your eyes.  It has the views of doctors and how many of them have turned to blood alternatives. Blood is not needed. But over all it is against God's Laws to take blood. It's in the bible. People who have taken other peops blood still end up dieing or getting new sickenesses...

I could go on to explain in detail but it would be easier if you found your nearest witness

  7. They are interested in teaching people about God's will and purpose, so that in the end they will be saved. However, blood transfusions are against the bible, therefore they don't accept them. The two have nothing to do with each other. Like the others said, this life is temporary, and if you gain salvation Jehovah will resurrect you, but if you go directly against God's law you may not gain salvation which will lead to your death.

  8. Hello,

Most of the people above have given you the Biblical answer to why we do not take blood.

Did you know that there is also a medical reason (for us this is secondary as Gods commands come first)

Yes blood transfusions are bad medicine... see what the experts say

  9. Good question.

These are the scriptures that tell us to stay away from blood.

Acts15:28 For the holy spirit and we ourselves have favored adding no further burden to YOU, except these necessary things, 29 to keep abstaining from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication. If YOU carefully keep yourselves from these things, YOU will prosper. Good health to YOU!”

Genesis 9:4 Only flesh with its soul—its blood—YOU must not eat.

Leviticus 3:17 “‘It is a statute to time indefinite for YOUR generations, in all YOUR dwelling places: YOU must not eat any fat or any blood at all.’”

Leviticus 7:26 “‘And YOU must not eat any blood in any places where YOU dwell, whether that of fowl or that of beast.

Leviticus 17:10 “‘As for any man of the house of Israel or some alien resident who is residing as an alien in YOUR midst who eats any sort of blood, I shall certainly set my face against the soul that is eating the blood, and I shall indeed cut him off from among his people.

Deuteronomy 12:16 Only the blood YOU must not eat. On the earth you should pour it out as water.

Deuteronomy 12:23 Simply be firmly resolved not to eat the blood, because the blood is the soul and you must not eat the soul with the flesh.

Is a transfusion really the same as eating blood?

In a hospital, when a patient cannot eat through his mouth, he is fed intravenously. Now, would a person who never put blood into his mouth but who accepted blood by transfusion really be obeying the command to “keep abstaining from . . . blood”? (Acts 15:29) To use a comparison, consider a man who is told by the doctor that he must abstain from alcohol. Would he be obedient if he quit drinking alcohol but had it put directly into his veins?

So by not geting a blood transfusion, we are obeying Jehovah's command to abstain from blood.

We as Jehovah's Witnesses strive to obey the bible, in everything. We can't pick and choose, that would not be truly serving Jehovah, would it?

  10. Because they like talking lives.

Life itself is in the blood.  God only forbids eating it, not transfusing it!  If someone is in need of a transfusion, and it gets denied, it's called murder.  They don't allow transfusion because they are a cult who has Scripture dictated to them by heretical books and magazines.   Basically they twist Scripture to support their beliefs.

For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’  Lev. 17:11

  11. Jehovah's witnesses are sadly stuck with a series of odd doctrines that have remained with them from the first half of the last century.

In acts 15 Paul and Barnabas were told to let the gentiles know that they were not to EAT blood around the Jews as it may upset them and cause divisions between these newly formed brothers and sisters. It was a one off decree for that time in that place NOT a universal command for the church, in the same way that the Israelites being told to go into Canaan and kill all the Men, Women and Children was also not a universal command.

The dietary laws of Leviticus were fulfilled in Christ and we are now under a "better covenant". We are now justified by grace through faith through the achievements of Jesus's finished work on the cross. Not works.

    TOTAL FREEDOM IN CHRIST!!!!

To the glory of God the father!

  12. Well, if a Christian is to argue against this, then they would have to say because God would save them if they were to be saved. Which, I always find humorous with religion. Like God didn't give people the ability to solve their own problems.

  13. Never heard of transfusions that lead to complications that lead to death, have you?

Not having a transfusion does not automatically mean death. Patients who do not receive blood recover quicker than those who do.

Do a google on "bloodless surgery". You'll find that over 90% of people refusing blood are not JWs, and most medical practitioners refuse blood themselves. Why?

But the reasons JWs do not take blood are not medical, but spiritual. God forbids it, end of story. (Acts 15:28,29)

Because it is against God's Command.

    Law, Principle, Word.

  15. I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and I personally never knew any Witness who died because of the blood issue. People exaggerate things. There are alternatives to blood, and they are effective. In fact, sometimes it's safer to use the alternatives that it would be to use blood.

On the other hand, I personally know many, many Witnesses who used to smoke. They have since quite because of being one of Jehovah's Witnesses. And they are alive.

In other words, more lives have been saved because of Jehovah's Witness's stand on smoking than have been lost because of their stand on blood.

  16. Jesus's blood is the one that saves.  Blood Transfusions are violating God's commandment.
