Why WOULD God require a blood sacrifice, anyway? I mean, isn't that pretty weird?

  1. a perfect life for a perfect life. adam sinned and lost perfection and favor with god.it would take another perfect human to get back what was lost.only Jesus was perfect and a human so it makes sense.

  2. in the OT, God accepted only very specific sacrifices. Once Jesus died on the cross for our sins, He made it so we would not have to make any more sacrifices. Jesus did it all. All we can do now is believe and love Jesus, and repent of our sins.

  3. The blood sacrifices in the O.T. were the civil laws ordained by God.  They symbolized the coming of Christ, who was the Lamb - the human sacrifice for the sins of His people.   Christ reconciled His people unto Himself through His death and resurrection.  He became 'the second Adam' because Adam failed in his responsibility to God, which was obeying God.  When Christ died on the cross and rose from the grave, the blood sacrifices were no longer necessary.  He was the LAST sacrifice as He fulfilled the customs and civil laws of the O.T.  - being born into the world, dying on the cross and ascending into heaven three days later.

  4. That was then, this is now. Different administrations. That was during the Law Administration. We live in the Administration of Grace. No blood sacdrifices required as Jesus was the ultimate blood sacrifice.

  5. Adam wasted his life.

The price for a perfect life is another perfect life. It is written "a life for a life, a tooth for a tooth, an eye for an eye, that is how you will pay".

Jesus Christ paid His perfect life so people lke you and me can have a resurrection and an entrance into His Kingdom that will rule the entire earth. It is like the inmigrant visa, these days. But you won'be able to jumpt the line.

  6. religions are like footy teams.... go christianity!!! no go islam!!! .... go ***** yourselves i say.... religion has been directly linked to MILLIONS of deaths over time.... how dumb are they

  7. Because really a sick and twisted being. We just don't even know.

  8. God required a blood sacrifice because blood is necessary for life and health.  And no, it isn't weird.  If you don't like His rules, take it up with Him.

    D1

  9. Why weird? People used to sacrifice animals for their sins. It didn't take away their sins, didn't change things. People got all caught up in the laws, and their own rules and regulations. God allowed Jesus to die for all our sins, once and for all, the ultimate sacrifice. It shows us how much God loves us that he was willing to sacrifice his only begotten son. If God is willing to do that because he loves us, then it should make it easier to be obedient and love him. Can you think of a bigger sacrifice than sacrificing your son ?

  10. Why WOULD God require a blood sacrifice, anyway?

The Law required for the Sins of the people to be removed that a Lamb as physically as perfect as was possible was used. The priest laid his hand on the Lamb as a symbol of the sins transferred to the innocent Lamb. That Lamb was then killed and died for the Sins of the people.

Jesus in the same way died for us.

He took our punishment we deserve for Sin upon himself.

I mean, isn't that pretty weird?

No had said that to forgive Sin

Heb 9:22  And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

purged means to be made clean of Sin

remission means pardon or forgiveness is not possible without blood of a innocent dying in the place of the guilty.

This was done for when Jesus would pardon people of Sin by his sacrifice for them.

  11. Jesus never knew that he is dying for the sins of humanity. he even prayed to God to take out this cup from him (accordomg to bible)

  12. He hasn't required a blood sacrifice since the crucifixion.

  13. It's all a load of tosh that's why.

There's tons of religions you listen to the story and some have similarities it's absurd.

That'd mean god is just as bad as the devil lol. Another point, it's a load of c**p.

;) simple as. To those that are religious here, but these are my personal thoughts. Until I see a holy spirit I ain't believing anything.

    PEACE!

  14. Yea the whole thing is wierd, most stories that people make up are.

  15. I think it has to do with the penalty for sin being death.  Blood symbolizes a death has been paid for that particular sin (in the old testament) or for all sin (Jesus - New Testament).  Therefore in both these cases, the requirement of death (through blood sacrifice) for sin has been paid.

I think it was largely symbolic in this manner.  It wasn't physical blood that was desired in and of itself, but it was what that blood represented (death for sin).

  16. It's the basis of the whole Christian religion, yet I could never get a straight answer about it from any Christian.

  17. yes, as weird as many of the other stories from that source.

  18. Depends on who wrote the book ---

A pacifist / humanitarian - no sacrifices required, all will be saved

A Judge - You will be saved depending on your actions

A War Monger / Egotist - Would require sacrifice and absolute superiority...

    You decide...

  19. Could it be that no one appreciates  that which comes cheaply? The higher the cost the greater the honor.
