  1. For the same reason he never married and never had s*x  with a woman.  He preferred playing with wood.

  2. Being a carpenter means making something beautiful out of a pile of wood. I think of myself as being a pile of wood. But He's currently working and making me into something beautiful.

  3. We Catholics believe jesus was born true God and true man.  It's not a question of choosing whtther to believe he is simply God or simply man.  The two natures of Deity and Humanity were present in him.  Those who do not believe or think only in merely human terms could not understand this, but in the Catholic Church, it is the mystery we call Incarnation - God himself deciding to take the form of man that He may teach us how to love God truly.  He was born a lowly carpenter to concretize the need for us to be humble beofre God.  God is the creator. By becoming a carpenter, God is in effect saying we are his co-creators, too.

  4. Kind of ironic... spends most of his life around wood and nails... then dies nailed to some wood.

  5. A theme in Christianity is work or to be in service of your fellow man.

    Best regards.

  6. Jesus was THE SON (of GOD) of man. THE SON - 50% GOD, of man - 50% man.

The man part of His Deity had to work, He suffered everything we could ever know and went through it sinless.

  11. all that time before he came to earth he had to look after the cattle on the 1000 hills that his dad own.  so when he came to earth he wanted to try another trade for awhile.  carpentry is good.

  12. He humbled Himself and became a human, willingly laying aside his divine privileges so he could experience what man experiences...

He suffered as we do, and yet was still God in human flesh.

  13. Because he wasnt the son of God, he was a man, and all men have to earn a living, btw there was no choice in it, he didnt choose to be a man it just happened like you and me.
