  1. I am a true fan not a bandwagon jumper so no matter what happens in JR'S career i will still know he was and is a phenomenal driver that should have either taken over DEI years ago or left.I truly think had he been making the day to day decisions at DEI things would have been different(not so many catastrophic failures and so on). No matter what he's my guy

  2. As a driver who had most of his fans because of his dad.

Even though he was pretty consistent once he got on Hendrick.

  3. With  no surprise. Mediocre drivers seldom win championships.

  4. Jr. is a good racer not a great racer.  He is always running up front and he is second in the points standing.

He's having a great career so far.  At this point in his careet we should be looking forward to the future and not the past.

Have you accomplished even half of what Jr has?  I don't think so.  He made a move away from DEI, he is part owner in the national chase, he has his own restuarant, etc, etc.

He's a legend to NASCAR in his own right.  Don't compare him to his dad.  His dad was great, Jr is good (right now) destined to be great

  5. With just the wins he currently has, it was a good career. Look at Mark Martin... great career no championship.

Better than some with multiple championships, but had to cheat to get them

  6. just like mark martins career, had a lot of wins alot of fans but just wasnt that good

  7. if he never wins it's no suprise....he's far too overrated

  8. u know he dont got many wins im thinkin his year is his year or next year is....ill think of it as a good couple of years spent with DEI then HENDRICKS he can pull off a championship....but u can think of this hes better than a lot of drivers and how can u expect him to live up to his dad... theres no way

  9. Just another driver that drove in the NASCAR circuit that had the biggest fan base

  10. All I can say that ANYONE who compares Dale Jr. to Kyle Petty is a NASCAR moron, pure and simple.................I really think that he will win at least one championship in his career but if he doesn't he is still a very good driver. Anyone who is in 2nd place in the points at this stage of the game is not doing it on ANYONE'S NAME and if you think the rest of the drivers are LETTING HIM, you better check yourself into your local nut house!

  11. That is a speculative question.  Hmm.  I guess he would be happy that he got the opportunity to race and work with such great people.

  12. I don't get it. I've never seen anybody call Mark Martin a bad driver, and he's never won a championship.

I'll look back on him as a Daytona 500 champion, and someone who was always close to a championship, but couldn't seal the deal(assuming he's a front runner the rest of his career, which I don't doubt), I guess one of the greatest Restrictor Plate racers in the History of NASCAR as well.

  13. The same way I do now

  14. Never say Never but it is very hard with all the changes made in Nascar and with the new COT, it's anyones ballgame for a Championship, and if he never wins one, then i really do not care will still be a fan thru think and thin..the good , the bad, and the ugly!..I still believe that Jr even if not winning a Championship will be around for a long time, he is with a winning Owner, Team-mates,Crew Chief, Pit Crew and a Great Attitude!

You cannot compare Jr with his Dad, he has some of Sr's traits but not all, he needs to be more aggressive and take risks, just my opinion and everyone has an opinion and that's ok too..either you are a fan or not..I have 13 drivers that I pull for and some of them never won a Championship either..do I waiver from them too, think not!

Does his driving skill and manner give anyone the right to bash or hate on him or any other driver..NO..that is not being a fan ..you always pull for your driver or drivers and never disrespect them or their fans!

  15. RIGHT ON MICHAEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  16. If Jr wins the Cup, with out the help of NASCAR, i would tip my hat to him.

Jr has done more for NASCAR off the track then he has on the track, by helping draw a very, very LARGE fan base to the sport. Just as Tiger Woods has done for golf.

My major gripe with JR is that he went to a rival team. JR wouldn't shave an wear t-shirts to interviews. He WAS the face of NASCAR, a southern bad-boy. Now, he wears button-ups an clean shaven. That is what the dress code for HMS is. I can totally understand why he left DEI, and I don't blame him one bit. But he went to the dark side, so, I am less likely to pull for him to get to victory lane.

  17. as a competitor who won a daytona 500, the all-star race as a rookie, two busch championships, and the most popular driver for years and years who carried himself well both on and off the track. also, i'd look back at him as a guy who really cared about preserving the history of racing.

and even without a cup championship, i'd still have to say he was an icon that helped keep many of the old-school fans caring about racing while bringing new young fans to nascar at the same time. and that's fairly rare in an era when fewer and fewer drivers have many (if any) ties to the "good ol' days" of racing - whether they were actually "better" or not.

  18. Like I do now  if it wasn't for his father he still be racing go karts so really can't expect him to win a championship

  19. he will always be a good driver and he worked hard to try to esacpe his father's shadow and h**l, his dad was the greatest driver alive.

  20. "d**n he really did suck and this kool-aid is bitter."

  21. He'll be like another Kyle Petty--the son of a legend.
