If Kenton Keith is so valuable as a Rider, then why did the media stomp all over him while he was here?

What was it specifically about this guy that the media would rip him so much?

As was said before, he's wasn't a team player.  He was also believed to have stolen jewelry from his team mate's locker (which earned him the nickname Kenton Thief), and it also believed that he was having an affair with the wife of another player.

It is hard not to report in the paper what dozens of people witnessed in a bar on the weekend.  The press in Regina are pretty good about not printing rumors.  Remember Reggie Slack, and his 'medical addiction'?  He was on the pipe for that whole season, and when he stopped making flights the team had to cut him.  The press just let it ride as a medical condition.

Regina is as serious about it's football. As Toronto is about it's hockey and Keiths is a bad seed it's no wonder his name was always in the news.

A bit of a party animal and not a big team player.  There were a lot of rumours about the way he handled himself.  He was also a bit surly with both fans and the press.  His skills were great and he will be remembered as an excellent back.

Yea football players have to learn how to behave I think. The press also likes to jump on any negetive that happens off the field as well - gives them somthing to write about.
