Question:

If Kyle can now finally see why we like fwd controls and on a 125cc, what would it take to get the other anti?

What would it take to get Kyle or the other anti-cruiser/anti-hd guys to just try it? Imagine if he'd have tried a bike with 1450cc's instead of a little 125cc thing

  1. The aspects of the Eliminator I liked was it's smooth progressive on/off throttle application, it was dead quiet, and was very calm. It didn't shake when idiling, and it wasn't ear-plastering loud. The forward controls feel natural in that position and if you keep your knees on the tank for the U-Turn box it felt quite agile, to my surprise.

    But.

There are features that a sportbike offer that any cruiser cannot, and some things I just prefer better. Say for instance the seating position, I like going into a corner leaned over instead of laid back. One isn't better than the other it's personal preferance.

A sportbike has that explosive, scary inline power, and the ability to wheelie upon request. I enjoy having that inbetween my legs.

In my situation I started on "fillet migon"; A 1000CC sportbike, something that offers a amazing ride (power and handling). But for people starting out, they will consider a middleweight cruiser like a Sportster or Shadow 1100 their fillet migon. (this isn't bad) You see if I step down to a cruiser I would be dissatisfied. I'm stepping down to a bike that just does that-cruise. I'm losing a little bit of performance in order to get a fatter seat and laid back seating position. Now IMO it's not worth it.

Yet, if I had a bunch of money I could see myself taking a Cruiser around. That eliminator was a nice surprise, and so was a Suzuki GZ250. Sorry though, I don't think I would buy a Harley, they're really expensive, heavy and IMO their technology and engineering is dated.

There goes 1/2 an hour of work.

  2. I'm not anti cruiser or H.D.. I rode a bike  with forward controls and Hated it.  I'm not a fan of the full blown sport bike riding position either . That's why I ride a sport tourer. To each, their own.

  3. I get it, I understand, but there are just better forms for "cruising"..that's all

If I'm in the mood to "cruise" I'll jump in the dune buggy and cruise the strip, I can fit more girls in the dune buggy anyway, and no matter what state I'm in, there is no helmet law...and like your HD bretheren claim about harleys, there is nothing like an old style torsion suspension on a dune buggy, with an air cooled flat four and a 4 speed...Plus I can go baja down some old RR tracks (something you aren't likely to try on a harley)

but if I'm in the mood to RIDE, a meager 60 hp just doesn't cut it for me...nothing personal, I just want more power, that's why I ride a hyper-sport.

  4. we all grow up some time.

  5. Good luck with that
