Oswald claimed to be a patsy shortly before he was shot by Jack Ruby to spare Jackie Kennedy the pain of a trial, Ruby claimed. So for this to hold up, some reason was given to him by his handlers of some useful role he could fulfill by working at a worse salary than he was getting by going to the Book Depository.Has there been any explanation of this anywhere?

  1. saying you are a patsy and saying you were not involved at all are two different things.  Oswald said; "I didn't shoot anybody." most likely Oswald was involved in the plot and delivered the rifle to his work but they used him as the patsy by naming as the shooter when he wasn't.
