If M.Phelps has personally won more gold then the entire Australian Team, then why not give him credit?

there was another swimmer in the 70's who won 7 golds in one olympics.  don't give phelps all the credit yet...he's only at 6.

Phelps is also a genetic mutation. Seems like he has an XXY issue going on. Huge wingspan, large palate. His mutation allows his to swim faster than anybody else just because of the way his body developed.

He is so famous now, he'll get millions of dollars from companies that advertise athletic equipment. His name will be carved in history books and he will get all these gold medals. He will be USA 's most eligible bachelor :)

   I am old enough to remember watching - enthralled - Mark Spitz.  A truly great swimmer.

     I thought his record could never be beaten.  Wrong.  Phelps is a truly amazing athlete, and his name will live in the record books for many, many years.
