    Its just like calling our moon 'the moon'. Its not the only one but since its the first one we knew of, it has a special distinction.

  12. I've seen the word 'Marsquake' used in New Scientist, so I'd say yes. Even if it isn't technical, it's still in use.

    The question I have is why do we refer to other planets and moons as being "geologically" active or inactive? or refer to the GEOgraphy of Mars?
