  1. You can lie to the cops, sheriff and your standard judge, but if you lie to the Feds your in a world of S**t.

  2. Well, let's see now. The Duke Lacrosse boys "did nothing wrong," spoke with investigators and how'd that work out for them?? These days anyone is an IDIOT to allow themselves to be questioned in a legal forum without representation. Even if your record is pure as the driven snow, it is simply the smart thing to do.

  3. Federal investigators are the cream of the crop when it comes to incompetence.  Just look at how they have bungled the Anthrax case.

One does not have to speak to law enforcement without a lawyer present.  They are not your friends and most of the time, they are looking for someone to lay blame on and make their jobs easier.

  4. Well, for one thing what she did might be in a grey area, and it may or may not be easy to prove in a court of law.

But an investigation could drag on forever with or without cooperation (see Barry Bonds for example, and the people around him who have spent time in jail for refusing to testify in front of a grand jury).

A grant of immunity can solve all that - she can say what she knows and move on with her life, and the investigators can get to the heart of the matter.

  5. maybe she wants to make sure that they can not get her on anything no matter what..

  6. some of those prescription pills might have been hers

and then it will be investigated how she came to have them

  7. doesn't want to incriminate himself

  8. Sometimes 'they' have a way of twisting words and getting one to confess to something they did not do.  I think she and her attorney are doing the wise thing.

  9. interesting..i was listening to this on the today show and im wondering the same thing..obviously something isnt right or she wouldnt be asking for immunity
