  1. Yes, the Bible even says he planned to divorce her quietly rather than have her stoned but he was told by an angel that what she told him was true and that he should still marry her.

  2. The Blessed Virgin Mary didn't tell her fiance Saint Joseph that she was pregnant!  He discovered that she was getting "big with child"...

The Blessed Virgin Mary must have felt very pleased when she was sexually or spiritually "overcome" like in an orgasmic experience by the power of God the Holy Ghost! She was a teenager in full puberty. She was very eagerly submitting to the advances of the proxy agent Saint Gabriel that God the Holy Ghost sent to fix a deal with her. She didn’t hesitate for one moment to comply with the request of a perfect stranger! So it was not a rape, but more like a horny young girl's dream to lay God the Holy Ghost come true!.

So it appears that as soon as Saint Joseph leaves the house on an errand and the Blessed Virgin Mary stays home alone, God the Holy Ghost “overcomes” her in a most divine copulation of unprotected s*x ever recorded in religious stories resulting in a positive pregnancy. She was never married to God the Holy Ghost! Saint Joseph is not the legitimate father of the Baby God the Son Jesus Christ! So what does that make Jesus, but a Holy b-a-s-tard? There are plenty of vulgar words with the initials SOB that we can use to describe him, but since the Greek Early Church Fathers came up with the brilliant idea to bestow on the Blessed Virgin Mary the title of Perpetual Virginity nobody would dare to call Jesus any vulgar name! So no matter what kind of instrument was used in the sexual relation that she allegedly had with God the Holy Ghost MARY’S VIRGINITY WAS NEVER COMPROMISED!

Today, God the Holy Ghost would have landed in jail, but in those days it was very common for young girls to blame any questionable pregnancy on a deity of some sort. That is why none of the Early Church Fathers ever questioned the "virgin" birth. They claimed that a lot of Jewish girls were eagerly expecting to mother the Divine Messiah, but that only Mary was the lucky one! She kept it a secret from her fiancé Saint Joseph for 6 months! When he found out that she was getting big with child he was going to dump her. The Virgin Mary assured him that she was going to mother God. Fortunately Saint Joseph had a dream that same night confirming her statements so he kept her! Most Christians believe that the Saint Joseph & Blessed Virgin Mary marriage was never consummated. Today, Saint Joseph is the Guardian Saint Protector of the Blessed Virgin Mary’s Perpetual Virginity and also the Saint Protector of all the Christian believers in the World! Praise the LORD!

Because of the Holy Trinity connection, the Blessed Virgin Mary became recognized as the Mother of God conceived without the “original sin™”. Always virgin! Her hymen was not torn neither during the intercourse with God the Holy Ghost, nor during her pregnancy or at delivery! She is defined as a “Perpetual Virgin”. That is a miracle verified by Saint Salome to the fullest satisfaction of Christianity! Nobody can prove any abuse! In 1950 it became a Church dogma that she ascended bodily into Heaven! Now she is officially the Queen of Heaven and the Mother of God! I don’t believe that she would be willing to complain about any statutory rape or abuse…!!! God compensated her beyond her wildest dreams! LUCKY TEENAGER!!!

    THE PROTEVANGELIUM OF SAINT JAMES

    http://www.newadvent.org/fathers/0847.ht...

    19. And the midwife went forth out of the cave, and Salome met her. And she said to her: Salome, Salome, I have a strange sight to relate to thee: a virgin has brought forth-a thing which her nature admits not of. Then said Salome: As the Lord my God liveth, unless I thrust in my finger, and search the **** parts, I will not believe that a virgin has brought forth.

    20. And the midwife went in, and said to Mary: Show thyself* (*spread thy legs!), for no small controversy has arisen about thee. And Salome put in her finger, and cried out, and said: Woe is me for mine iniquity and mine unbelief, because I have tempted the living God; and, behold, my hand is dropping off as if burned with fire.

This story comes at the tune of "♫♪ Faith of our Fathers… living still…♪♫♪ we shall be true to thee to the end…♪♫♪"

  3. I suppose so but when the angel spoke to him being a religious man, he obeyed.

  4. he had faith! God had a plan and joseph knew that, it just takes faith and trust

  5. Joseph:  "He better be the son of God, I'll tell you that.  And he better be the ONLY son of God.  I've got enough problems w/out raising a whole house full of God's kids."

  6. Think God had a word in his ear.

  7. Yes he was and he wasnt going to marry her until he was told to by an angel to marry her and she was pregnant with the son of God.

  8. It's well documented that he was confused.  They all were, according to the Bible.

  9. No, because it never happened!

  10. if i remember right, the bible says that joseph was going to quietly call off the wedding or divorce her or whatever, until an angel came and talked to him.

  11. yes he was he was angry and in real life mary was an adultress

  12. Joseph appears to have been a bit of a s*****k.

  13. Yeah, if it was now times, I think Joseph would be living that Mary, for someone more faithful.

  14. you would think so wouldnt u?!

  15. Sure he was and the bible describes this.. That is why God came to him in a dream. He assured Joseph in a dream that which was in Mary was of the holy ghost so that Joseph would be confident in taking her as his wife...Hope this helped...God bless you !

  16. If Mary was not pregnant through Joseph and the news got out, she would have been stoned to death. The story didn't come out until about 70 years after the death of Jesus. Through the stories of Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John. Believe what what you want.

  17. Yes, of course he was but the angel of the Lord reasured him:

    Matthew 1

18 ¶ Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

19  Then Joseph her husband, being a just [man], and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.

20  But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

21  And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

22  Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

23  Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

24  Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:

25  And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

  18. We're supposed to just take as fact that Mary and Joseph were so trusting in the Lord that neither of them had any problem being the surrogate parents of an omnipotent being.

But I imagine in real life Joseph might have had some doubts.. It depends on how religious and faithful he was I guess.. And none of us now can every know for sure.

EDIT: nevermind, it looks like I have to reread my bible. I never knew that Joseph was ready to divorce Mary over that! Interesting.. ^_^

  19. No haven't you heard the story?  An angel came to both of them in their dreams on the same night and the next morning they were like "I had the weirdest dream last night !"

That's what it says in my kiddies New Testament anyway lol

  20. In the talmud, a virgin is a woman with an intact hymen.  If Mary's hymen was intact, she was a virgin, regardless of the pregnancy.

  21. While I consider myself a Christian in that I believe there was a Jesus Christ, and that I agree with all his teachings and his philosophy of life, I do not believe for one minute that he was born to a virgin.

This is a classic case of mistranslation in the bible which was originally written in Hebrew.

In the Hebrew language there isn't a separate name for a virgin and young maiden, it was when the bible was translated into Greek in about 200bc that it was decided the word would be virgin, therefore the whole story of Mary being a virgin is just a myth.

That to me does nothing to diminish the wonderful man Jesus Christ.

  22. Of course he was.  In fact, he was going to get rid of her.

But the angles came and explained it to him.

So Joseph bleived what God had told him through the angels, and not what other people told him ("She lied! You need to get rid of her!")

    [Matthew 1:18-21]

  23. Depends on whether you look on this book as a work of fiction or not.

The authors are suspect and vary in number and identity according to who related the stories.

I do not accept it as anything more than myth just as tales of The Arabian

Nights or William Smith and the Gold Plates.

My connection to God is strong but is not backed up by a novel rather with faith.

I suspect that joseph either was the culprit or was a cuckold and didn't want it known.

  24. One thing that i found to be strange, Mary and Joseph were married and to consumate the marriage Mary would have to give her virginity to Joseph. So... were they actually not married? Somethin else to think about.

  25. Yes he was.

The Law of Moses specified that he could break the engagement.  But he received a heavenly visit er that assured him it was of God and it would work out.

This Jewish practice was remarkable, because they were not married, but they could date no one else, like today's engagement somewhat.

  26. yes - if you read the part youre questioing it actually says that.  I'll make it easy for ya: he said he was going to marry her to save her reputation and then divorce her quietly once they'd travelled to complete census in Bethlehem.

  27. Of course he was.  Then an angel appeared to Joseph in a dream and told him not to be afraid to have Mary as his wife. The angel explained that Mary had been chosen by God to be the mother of his son. The angel told Joseph that the baby would be named Jesus which means savior. When Joseph woke up he was no longer worried and took Mary as his wife.

  28. Joseph and Mary were "promised" to each other, they were not married when the Holy Spirit visited her, he was of course both suspicious and cofused and was willing to quietly let her out of said promise because the penalty for her getting pregnant out of marriage was stoning. Joseph changed his mind when an Angel of the Lord came to him and told him to not be afraid to take Mary as his wife as she had been made pregnant by the Holy Spirit.

  29. He was very angry and hurt which is why he had decided to divorce her quietly -- until the angel appeared to him in a dream and told him to take Mary as his wife.  This is understood as they were actually only engaged....they had not actually married and were not living together.  Being engaged/betrothed had a far deeper meaning than today's engagements do.

  30. Probably, but the whole story isn't in the Bible...angels probably came to Joseph just like they came to Mary.

    I was right.

    matthew 1:18-25 (excerpt follows)

This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. 19Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.

20But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."

  31. It is accurate to believe that Joseph was both suspicious and confused, that is why God sent an angel with instructions to Joseph so he could accept Mary's amazing words.
