Mary, mother of Jesus, wasn't Arabic. She was Galilean/Israelite. Her name was Maryam in her native Aramaic... which is the same as the Arabic name.

Her name was brought to the english speaking world through the Bible... the only reason it is an English name now is because of her.

Her name was a little different. Then when Chrsitianity spread to Rome they Romanized her name to Mary...

Bacause the you know the English version of the Bible...eg the Italian version calls her Maria...and in the original texts Jesus is referred to as Isus...so it all depends on the translation and also that time has altered some of the content and names etc.

Because the facts have been changed by the English. They changed Mary's hebrew name for the english one, to make it fit in better.
