  1. Yes I think it would have been a very explosive fight with each guy throwing a lot of hard shots each round. I truly believe that although Cotto is a warrior, Mayweather would have found a way to beat him or outscore him in the end by using his footwork and amazing hand speed.

  2. u know who would destroy mayweather like a ******???prince naseem hamed in his prime!if u aint know him go do a research

  3. The difference in the speed of the two would be the most similar aspect.  While they're both defensive, Mayweather and Whitaker don't have similar styles - and Cotto is a more clever boxer than Chavez.

I think it would be a closer fight than either Taylor or Whitaker against Chavez.  Mayweather doesn't throw nearly as many punches in combination as Taylor, and wouldn't be able to outclass Cotto to the extent Whitaker was able to do against Chavez.

Mayweather has shown a lot of vunlerablity against top level fighters, he's even lost fights on 2 judges cards.  I believe that if De la Hoya, Zab Judah and Castillo could push Mayweather, Cotto could definitatley give a better showing that JCC did against Whitaker.

  4. I agree with the first post. it would be a great fight and likely resemble Chavez vs Whitaker
