Question:

If McCain chooses someone other than Romney for VP, will it be for the good of the US, or because of anger?

Would McCain pass on Romney just because he hates him? Even if Romney was the best pick for the GOP and for a potential election win? Would McCain put himself above the interests of the party?

  1. The answer is no to both. But does he truly hate Romney(he my first choice)? This certainly is an interesting year, from the abundance of narcissism we have seen so far.

  2. Are you suggesting that Obama picked Biden because of anger? Did Obama pass on Hillary because he hates her? Is Obama putting himself above party interests?

  3. The guy has to be able to work with him as a team. Romney is an excellent choice but how badly does John hate him? What does being a Mormon have to do with anything anyway?

  4. McCain will choose whoever he thinks will help him get elected.

    That's what they all do.

  5. After that ad they ran against Obama where they criticized his choice for VP

They would be supreme idiots to choose Romney. Obama camp could have a field day throwing their hatred for each other right back in their faces.

  6. I don't care for Mitt.  Mitt was governor of Mass when several liberal agendas became law.  A leopard cannot change its spots.

  7. You guessed it Burt Renolds!

    Happy Groundhog Day!

  8. I worry that McCain might be unpredictible that way.  I would like to hope he would not put himself or his arrogance above the party.

Let's not forget that George H.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan were not the best of friends in the 1980 primary and, in fact, had some pretty harsh words for one another.  My feeling is that the VP is meant to compliment the President not to be his best friend or a yes man.

Though I'd rather have seen Mitt Romney as President, I would be satisfied with him as VP and perhaps President down the road.  I personally will not be happy if McCain chooses someone else.

  9. Lamplighter, would it be in the best interest of the country to have in-fighting between the President and his Vice-President?  I can answer that for you.  No.  Therefore, the answer to your question, as I see it, would be that if McCain were to choose someone other than someone he would be at constant odds with, then it would be for both his best interests and the best interests of the country.

  10. "in the end... it doesnt really matter."

mccain supporters are ignorant and afraid obama will be a better president.

romney is probably the best choice but he WAS pro abortion at one point so... i dont know about that....

  11. McCain will do whatever he d**n pleases.  He will pick Romney even though he doesn't like him that much.  Romney will govern like a CEO.  Profits before people.  That McCain likes.

  12. Ladies and gentlemen, here we have a "party insider", who must be privy to information the rest of us aren't.  Point being... you don't know what you are talking about.  I doubt very seriously the republican party is staking the entire election on whether or not Romney is McCain's running mate and besides, you really have no idea what their relationship is.  Is it difficult being so blinded by your own politics?

  13. Good question. I would hope McCain does what is right for the country and not the party or personal reasons. That has been McCain's history and I trust him to do the right thing.

  14. I think it would be for the good of the U.S. We really don't need someone in a leadership role going around talking down to other countries. Granted, most probably believes what he says, but saying what he does in public will only make matters worse.
